As a building services manager working for you will be joining a well-established and experienced mechanical team who deliver a range of projects in the retail, commercial and industrial sectors.
The department is currently growing due to the acquisition of new and exciting projects both in the Peterborough area and throughout the country.
The role will include managing a team of engineers to deliver projects with the value of up to £1 million.

Reporting directly to the executive manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of varying sized commercial and retail mechanical projects.

The role of building services manager will require you to ensure your allocated projects are run efficiently, profitably and that all contractual conditions are complied with. Duties and Responsibilities will include:
The overseeing and managing of office-based and on-site personnel
Competence in the understanding of the contract design and construction drawings
Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site
Attendance of regular site meetings with clients, architect, quantity surveyor, planning supervisor etc
Preparation of relevant reports, programmes, and progress reports
Pricing and agreeing instructions with the client or client’s agent
Formulating valuations and final accounts
Monitoring and reporting on job profitability
Assisting with the preparation of tenders
Ensuring that all specific materials ordered are received on or before their due delivery dates
Negotiating terms, procuring and monitoring the performance of sub-contractors and suppliers
Identifying and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide
Checking and the authorisation of purchase invoices
Verifying and authorising time sheets on a weekly basis
Procurement of new clients and suppliers
Dealing with, recording and investigating any complaints received with regards to any aspect of the service that we provide
Ensuring that acceptable levels of customer care are provided at all times
Regular use of our bespoke computer system and other software packages such as Word, Excel and Project
Professional development of engineers

Proven experience and evidence of:

Building and mechanical services
mechanical project managing
Mechanical installations
Technical knowledge of commercial and domestic installations
Managing teams, excellent communication and organisation skills

Ability to use Microsoft Office software
Building Services Engineering Honours, HND/HNC, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 building industry related qualification
Competent in Health & Safety

CSCS Card
SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme)
NEBOSH or IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health) Managing Safely
